Haakon is obsessed with anything Star Wars! When he turned 5 we had a Jedi birthday party complete with Jedi training and a visit from Darth Vader. For his birthday this year my sister gave him some R2D2 Christmas lights. She suggested I set up a small Christmas tree in his room, so I gathered up some of his vintage Star Wars action figures (purchased off Ebay and from various thrift stores)to be used as ornaments and a light up M&M lightsaber as the tree topper. But the tree was missing something ~ a tree skirt!
So, I went through my fabric stash and found some Star Wars fabric I picked up this summer at JoAnn's in Ogdensburg, NY unfortunately we don't have a JoAnn Fabrics in Canada...sad face.
I purchased this mini tree skirt from SA for 99 cents to use as a pattern for the skirt.
I folded my fabric in half and lay it on top and cut.
I purchased this large roll of white seam binding from SA for $1.99. This is what I used to finish the edges of the skirt.
Viola! A Star Wars tree skirt for a Star Wars inspired Christmas Tree.
