New Year Thrifts!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great holiday~ we sure did! Haakon went back to school today and we are all adjusting to old routines. The Christmas tree has been taken down and most of the decorations have been packed up. I even managed to wrap all the Christmas books for next years book advent! I know, I'm a keener!!

Many bloggers have been posting about the barren shelves at their local thrifts so I thought I would head out today and see if that was the case here in O-town. I wouldn't say that the shelves were stocked with lots of vintage but I did manage to find a few goodies, including Pyrex!

Here's what I found...

ROUND LACE EDGE CAKE PLATE

This beautiful milk glass cake plate has a round lace design around the edgeIt’s perfect for displaying cakes, tarts, and cupcakes! These plates make any baked goodies look fab. I didn't really need this plate since I already have 2 but for $1.99 could I really pass it by!?!

PYREX 232 CASSEROLE DISH LIME GREEN AND WHITE

I am in love with the colour of this dish! The lime green is so pretty! It's not in minty condition, there's a few scratches but for $1.99 I thought it was a fair price. I've been wanting a rectangular dish for a while now so when I saw this on the bottom shelf I quickly snapped it up! I would love to find the carrier that matches this dish.

MADE in ENGLAND NURSERY RHYME MUG

A super-lovely, dainty little coffee mug, featuring the first line of the 'Twinkle, Twinkle' nursery rhyme. The mug is printed with a very kitschy, 60s illustration to go with the rhyme, and stamped 'Made in England' on the bottom. I really shouldn't be buying anymore mugs or glasses since our glasses cupboard is outta control!!

Did you notice my fab tablecloth? I picked it up just before Christmas for $3.99. I love the bold, flower graphics and vibrant colours. Using a tablecloth like this really brightens up a darkwinters day!

Would love to hear how the New Years thrifts have been for you?

Heading over to Sir Thrift A Lot's Thriftasaurus, A Living Space's Nifty Thrifty and the Cottage Market's Junkin' Joe!

Until we thrift again...

  1. I wouldn't have left the plate behind either - that looks so familiar, I think there is a piece similiar to that at home.

And, the lime green, that's a great find for a thrift, especially, after Christmas - wonder if someone got a new pan......

  2. I agree. You HAD to buy that cake plate. It will look cute with Valentine cookies or cupcakes on it. Looks like you found more than I did. I went out again this morning and still nothing major.
